Mark at RTA has been teaching first aid since 1996, he also has a small team of trainers who deliver first aid training. First aid training by RTA is normally regulated first aid courses through QNUK an Ofqual regulated Awarding Organisation. In April & October 2022 and again in 2023 QNUK have renewed our Direct Claims Status for our regulated first aid delivery – a sign of quality.

Delivering regulated first aid means the employer has exercised due diligence in the eyes of the HSE. Practically you need to train sufficent staff to cover sickness and absences of first aid trained personel in your workplace, will you have sufficent cover if one of your first aider leaves? We primarily deliver first aid courses in Warrington, where we are based.  We deliver further afield by agreement. Do you work in the Security Industry?

Changes came in on the 1st April 2021 if you are attending a security or door supervisor course to gain your SIA Licence then you must have a first aid certificate.

Existing SIA licensed guards and door supervisors also need to maintain a first aid certificate. See the Government Website for more details. Information For All of Our First Aid Courses

RTA based in Warrington deliver both the Level 3 Paediatric First Aid training, a two day course and the Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid training, a one day course. We can supply this course on-site for up to 12 staff. These courses can provide your early years first aid needs. It is suitable for nursery staff and infant/primary school staff, it’s a popular childminder first aid course. Suitable for anyone who needs to meet the EYFS Paediatric First Aid training requirements. The courses follow the OFSTED syllabus.

OPTIONS: The full 12 hrs Paediatric course: up to 6 hours e-learning first then one day in class face to face or alternatively two days face to face. Contact me if your nursery or school needs a course.

The above described courses ensure your business compliance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. Download the Approved Code of Practice and Guidance (L74) here.  Make sure your first aid provision is compliant, as these are regulated RQF courses (On the OFQUAL Register) it automatically demonstrates due diligence by the employer when selecting them.

These Aquatic First Aid courses are accredited by British Canoeing and provide those involved in paddle sports and other water based activities with basic First Aid knowledge and skills for a range of emergency situations, that are within a reasonable distance of medical assistance. It also provides British Canoeing coaches and leaders with an appropriate basic First Aid award.

There are two awards Level 1, an 8 hour course. Level 2, a 16 hour course over 2 days. RTA can provide these courses in Warrington or by negotiation we can come to your venue and deliver on-site.

For many years RTA have been delivering the RYA First Aid course which fulfils the requirements for:

  • Professional skippers of small craft working within 60 miles of a safe haven, including Boatmasters;
  • The Senior First Aid certificate needed by offshore racers subject to ISAF’s regulations on first aid training (OSR 4.08.4).

The RYA First Aid course is recommended by the MCA and HSE. RYA First Aid training is also needed by RYA Instructors. It’s an 8 hour course and includes a full colour A4 First Aid book and certification valid for 3 years. The course will be delivered at a suitable venue or if there is a few of you an on-site course could be provided. One trainer can teach up to 12 delegates.

Level 3 Responding to incidents with an AED (RQF)  (1/2 day course) see specification. AED’s are the essential kit to save lives in a sudden cardiac arrest.

Level 3 First Aid (Annual Refresher for First Aiders) (1/2 day) see specification. The HSE recommend annual 3 hour refreshers for all first aider, maintain your skills for that emergency situation.

Level 2 Basic Life Support (Adults and Children) (1/2 day course) see specification.

The above courses are all regulated and are on the Ofqual Register – RQF Awards, a mark of quality. They are deliverd through our registered centre status with QNUK – the Awarding Organisation.
