Train The Trainer Courses

Highfield Level 3 Award in Education and Training, formally the PTLLS Course. There are no planned open courses at present, that said contact us to see if we can help. If you are already teaching in a workplace it could be that we can incorporate that and qualify via that route, Using workplace teaching towards your portfolio evidence, we can also put the award together for small groups.

Richmond Training Associates of Warrington have for a number of years been supplying train the trainer courses. Initially the former CIEH Professional Trainer Certificates, then PTLLS and RLSS UK Lifesaving Trainer Assessor Awards. We now predominately very successfully supply teacher training courses via the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, which has replaced PTLLS training.

We previously delivered these awards via the CIEH, but in 2017 they surrendered their Awarding Organisation status to OFQUAL. We then used the AoFAQ instead. In 2019 they ceased as an Awarding Organisation so we now use Highfield Qualifications who we already use for assessor and IQA units. and have a long relationship with. Highfield awarded us Direct Claims status in April 2020 after a successful review of our learner portfolio submissions.

Other Available Courses

Good news, RTA can deliver this shorter assessor & IQA training qualification.

The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace. It is a practical qualification suitable for new and experienced trainers (external and internal) who wish to improve their classroom skills and obtain a training qualification that will also enable them to deliver regulated qualifications.

This qualification provides a good basis to help learners get a foot first into training. The focus is on the effective delivery of training, allowing learners to develop planning, preparation and delivery skills, including delivery methods, questioning techniques and time management.

It’s mainly aimed at those who will use pre-prepared training materials to deliver training within the workplace, for example in-house training, as opposed to a training qualification that is more focused on procedures, protocol and regulatory requirements, such as education and training.

This award can be delivered over two separated days. Attendees should be 16 years of older and ideally at Level 2 in literacy. The course comprises of one unit – Planning and delivering training. Delegates will plan and build a session plan, deliver a micro-teach and complete a self-evaluation and give verbal feedback to peers on their teaching delivery.

This award can be delivered on a case by case basis often with remote support. If you hold the Level 3 Award in Education and Training and Assessor/IQA units/Assessor Units you may have some recognised prior learning.

Contact RTA for advise to discuss your requirements. The Award Specification is here.
